Fox’s were recently invited up to Yorkshire to visit Snugpak, the great British sleeping bag manufacturer. Fox’s have stocked Snugpak sleeping bags for over 20 years and this was a chance to meet the people who actually make the bags and see how it is all done. Snugpak is proud to be the only British company still producing performance synthetic filled clothing and sleeping bags in the UK. They have a team of around 50 employees that use a combination of state of the art computer controlled quilting machinery and hand sewing techniques at its West Yorkshire HQ, which was a woolen mill dating back to the 1850’s.

Snugpak not only make sleeping bags for civilian use but also have a long history of providing sleeping bags for the armed forces around the world. This premium insulation is the result of Snugpak’s continuing research and development which results in a finer, softer and more durable insulation. The Paratex performance outer layers and wicking linings are extremely breathable ensuring a warm and dry night’s sleep.

The Softie collection has a sleeping bag for every climate, from the Softie 3 Merlin, a single construction bag which is ideal for hot climates and the UK summer to the Antarctica RE, Snugpak’s most extreme performance bag for temperatures down to -20° C. The Special Forces system of sleeping bags are designed to be used either on their own or layered to cover all conditions from +5°C to -15°C and the Jungle Bag packs down to an impressive 14 x 12 cm and weighs just 750 grams.
